Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop
Bernice Pauahi Bishop was born on December 19th, 1831 in Honolulu. She was a Hawaiian Princess, and was the great-granddaughter of King Kamehameha making her a direct descendent. She was also the last surviving heir, owning about 9% of Hawaii's total land area making her the largest private landowner of Hawaii. The land is used to operate Kamehameha Schools. She married philanthropist and business man Charles Reed Bishop. She sadly died of breast cancer on October 16th, 1884 at age 52.
